Exhibition continues through Feb. 2 2007 For her first exhibition In Chicago, Chika Ito has produced 1000 postcard sized papers, with silver inked circles. 1000 thoughts, 1000 nights; psychological mapping of her first winter in 's-Hertogenbosch, Holland. Ito explains that "All hand drawn circles together would become structure;they are derived from my everyday emotions. Based on the very personal motivation, they explore the visual presentation of spontaneous repetition. This case, my own feeling as a source of creativity, put together, they transcend physical performances to visual coherence. Born in Niigata, Japan, Ito lives and works in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Ito studied at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale 1996 -2000. |
