I can’t go on. I’ll go on.
—Samuel Beckett
My work deals with the origins of meaning and the futility/worth of expression.
On the surface the work is influenced by history, science, prose, hobby/model-making, and ideas of collecting and display. It is also loaded with literary devices, references, and techniques. In a sense it is charged with fiction, becoming almost a strange combination of absorbing objects and written stories.
I am attracted to the individual words that make up a story, the stars that comprise a galaxy, the soldiers who form an army. I'm inspired by what things we choose to keep and the pieces of us that are left behind in the process.
